As I've gotten older, I tend to sleep later. Therefore, I miss many beautiful mornings. This morning, I got up early and was blogging on the computer as the sun came up over the mountain to the West. At first, it was just the outline of the black mountain and black trees in the foreground with a gradual increasing light behind them. That black and white view was so very serene. Now, it is light enough to see my front yard, the haystack, and the pasture fence. The sun hasn't quite made it up over the mountain, but it is working on it. So begins another day on the ranch.

JR took his digital camera with him, so I googled this morning silhouette and also one of my favorite morning views... Half Dome at Yosemite.
