There Are Days ... ..

It's Saturday.... the end of the week... and it feels like the end of me. It is hot here. Yesterday it hit 100. Today is cooler, but we are probably looking at thunderstorms and the dreaded lightening strikes. The nights have been cool and with the hot days, my body feels awful.... like a bad summer cold. I think it is mostly allergies.

Also, I have been on pain meds since I fell last October. With the two surgeries, I've been on the "big" stuff. I've decided it is time to get off these things and so I have been working on just that. Well.... it ain't a walk-in-the-park. Now I know how drug addicts feel when trying to kick the habit. Hot/cold sweats, crawling out of my skin, can't sleep. Yikes!!!!! But, I am working through it and I comfort myself with the thought that this discomfort won't last forever. For pain, I'm sticking to my old standard of extra strength Tynenol.

Going through all of this, I'm not looking so good either. Warning... the picture you are about to see could be frightening!!!!!

Tracy is right, call the Dr... tell his nurse you are doing this and make sure you are weaning yourself properly!

Annie, I give you so much credit for coming off the medication. It is hard, but you are so strong! You have come through life with flying colors! Take care... I know you still have pain along with the symptoms of getting off of the pills... BTW, I love your new avatar!

Getting off those things can really be a challenge. You can do it, though.

Maybe you can try weaning your body off of the pain meds...that way it won't shock your system.

Good luck, Annie. You might try Aleve. It always helped me more than Tylenol.

I agree with Laurie, take it a little at a time, not all at once. Most Doc will tell you the same thing..too much of a shock for the system. Take Care *huggers*

Take best care, and listen to Laurie.

You really should cut down slowly on the pain meds instead of trying to cold turkey. You could end up having a seizure.I learned this the hard way.Laurie
