Scattergories from the Scattered Brain!

I have been away for such a long time that I fear I will never be able to get all done that needs my attention.About the trip-We left early Saturday morning for Texas. Illinois, Missoui and Arkansas were water logged. Everywhere I looked were fields of water and more water. The country was beautiful though much more so than in the late summer when the heat has destroyed so much of the green. Wild flowers were abundant everywhere, and the first color of spring was a pale green blush upon Nature's cheeks.Since we were pulling the car on a trailer, the traveling was much slower and more difficult. The wind asaulting us and the poor condition of the roads did not help to ease the trip down. From Little Rock, Arkansas to Hope, Clinton's home town, the roads were wonderful. Hubby said that Bill must have made sure that those roads were in good shape! When we crossed the line into Texas, the land of the big sky, I kept looking at that hugh sky and wondering why it seemed so much larger in that state than my own. I finally decided that the different vegetation may have caused some of the illusion of greatness. Then possibly the enormous lay of the land might have some effects. Whatever the reason, Texas does seemed blessed with an enormous expanse of beautiful sky. The rest facilities, however, leave much to be desired! The rest rooms are rather open to the elements, and the behinds do get somewhat coolwhen exposed. I was afraid that I might have to beat the icicles off before cleaning myself!I did get to spend some time with my grandson. Hubby and I both told him that he would always be welcomed and have a home if he needed a safe haven. He cried when we left him to return home.I didn't see where my daughter lived, and she didn't invite us by. Hubby and I both feared that the condition of her home might have been the reason. They would meet us for supper each night afterwards departing  upon our separate paths. The trip home was bittersweet since memories of better times came flooding over us. And there are many good things to remember of my children. I will continue to concentrate on those. It was good to return to what my hubby calls God's country.

I'm so happy to hear that you had a nice, happy trip. The scenery must have made the drive spectacular, even if there some less than ideal conditions to deal with. And, I'm especially happy to hear that you got to spend some time visiting. It's too bad your grandson cried, but that's proof of the love he has for you. I know you didn't get to go to your daughter's place, but it was more important to see her than it was to see where she lives. Maybe things will be different in the future, but for now you know that you were all able to get together and enjoy the time. Now I'm glad you made it home safe and sound.

Nice to have you back. Sounds like you had a wonderful visit with your grandson, even though it must've been heartbreaking to see him cry as you said goodbye. I hope he'll take you two up on your offer to come visit soon.

Sorry you missed your "neck of the woods" earthquake while you were gone! But I enjoyed reading about your trip. Makes me all the more eager for mine (starting May 1).

Sounds as if the trip was quite beautiful! I know your grandson really did wish to come back with you! Glad to have you back in God's Country! The restrooms?

I'm glad you made the trip and were able to show your unending love and support for your Grandson. The loyalties we have toward people are often strange. Similar to abuse victims defending their abusers. I'm sure your Grandson was sad to see you go. Take care of yourself and know I am thinking of you!

Glad you are home. I heard an explanation of the vast skies in the Southwest...This person said it was their is an 80 percent exposure to the skies here. Don't know if it is true. Better days ahead.
