Moments That Make Memories

I was watching a movie on Lifetime yesterday, a real tear jerker. It was about a retired Latin teacher whose husband had died in an automobile accident during the first years of their marriage. She reconnects with a former student, a young man with a wife and two lovely children, who is goal setter and striver. During the movie, the retired teacher again becomes a teacher to him. She teaches him that life is made of those wonderful moments that will become memories. She knew well the fragility of human life and lived most of hers in recollections of those wonderful moments that she had had with her husband.
After watching this movies, I began to think of those moments that have become so special to me and wanted to share them with you.
My memories of my father and the wonderful person that he was.

My marriage to the hubby that I have now and the wonderful support that he gives me.My children and the students that I adopted while teaching. My home and my woods behind my house. My dogwood tree in bloom.Smelling the flowers and watching butterflies. My pets and all things fluffy, furry great and small.I could go on and on with the change in seasons, the beautiful sunrises and sunsets, the trail rides, and the many friendships that I have experienced through the years, but if you noticed most of these are not those items which are purchased but those special gifts that we receive just from living.

I had a conversation with Grace this morning about how every day is beautiful because it gives us the chance to be together, see the flowers, blah blah blah, and I smiled when I read this.

WOW, what a wonderful, "Memory Book" Now all you need to add is a audio tape of memories and your stories to give to the family.

Another idea I had with my neighbor, we were going to do this but didn't get to it, this is the neighbor that recently passed away.
I wanted to do an audio of her stories, while I made her recipes, she was getting were the chopping and preparing of a soup was too much.
Her stories just flowed. Never knew what she''d talk about while I visited. So get a recorder or a cam corder, and cook and tell your STORY!
The family will love it, I'm sure!!

Well said. That is so true. It's all the little things in life that are the most precious and too valuable to ever attach a price.
