Weather Forecasting

This year's mountain snow pack in Colorado has been very disappointing, but everyone is counting on the storm moving in there tonight to make a big difference.

Weather forecasters have been pointing to the halo around the moon as a sign of the coming storm. It is formed by ice crystals in the atmosphere.

You know how weather is never a sure thing, but I really hope we get that 4 to 8 inches that's in the forecast, and that the storm moves on to other drought-stricken areas across the country.

I'll never forget that winter I lived in Vermont - once it snowed, the ground was covered until spring. I moved into my rental in November, and never knew where the driveway curved until May.

Crazy mild weather that settled into Northwest Ohio, thanks weather scientists say to the severe northern route of the jet stream. I'm going walking in our botanical garden today and stopping for a serious chat in the bulb garden with the crocuses, urging them not to get any growing ideas just yet. Crocuses are impulsive and enthusiastic and joyful if their roots get warm. I understand crocuses. I'm the same way.

Denver is so dry and can get warm, and many years we worried that the daffodils will come up too soon.

as I sit here, (about 4 am) it is snowing furiously here in Cow Snot. Of course this has to happen the day Uncle Sugar doles out my monthly pitance and I have to go do errands (pay rent etc.) sigh. well, we've been lucky til now in re. snow fall so we're due. this will be good for the resorts and for the ranchers and farmers come spring.
