Precious

Tonight at the casino we were sitting near the Lord of the Rings-themed slot machines and it reminded me that when we got married back in 1978 we had "Precious" engraved inside Mr. Troutbend's wedding band. That was back when people were reading the trilogy, and for some reason we liked the sound of 'my precious.'

Inspired by the pictures on the slot tonight, Mr. Tbend took his ring off and was saying "My Preeeeecious" all creepy like in the movie and I hit him. The honeymoon is over, but he's still my precious as long as he doesn't talk like that.

Yes he is. I was at the garden center by myself and almost bought him a bush with red flowers for Valentine's Day but he'd have to plant it, so maybe not such a great gift.

I was sitting there thinking about how when those movies came out, you'd think we'd have been all over it, like millions of other people, seeing as how we were getting stuff engraved in rings, but nope, we didn't make that psychic connection with the movie.
