I wish I could send you the sound of the river today. It was down all weekend so we had some fishermen. But they are making up for it today with twice as much water and it's roaring out there.

I complained to the water authorities about the loss of income this summer from the river being too high for fly fishing. Instead of $3600 fishing income in 2008, we so far have made only $800. It would be nice if they finally figured out they could turn the volume down on weekends for the fishing and then make up for it during the week. Won't know until next weekend if they are going to make it a regular thing.

I was honored to have my Welsh Corgi friends spend a couple of nights here. They are the nicest, smartest dogs, and love it here because they can run free without leashes. They are very good about staying near the house and can be let outside on their own for short periods of time.



One of their favorite activities is digging for ground squirrels, but they never find any.



The tree squirrel is up there taunting them.
