Don't Buy It, Don't Watch It

The word on the 'street' (actually the Internet) is that Casey Anthony is going to be out of jail for good next week, due to time served counting toward her sentence.

And she is likely to get paid millions for her story in the form of books and when it goes to movies. Like I said to Dottie's post, I expect to see her on Dancing with the Stars some day soon.

The only bit of sunshine is that Florida law allows the state to bill her to for the costs of investigation and searching for Calley when she really wasn't missing.

But it goes beyond the Anthony situation, this applies to every obnoxious media event. People like to gripe about what Glenn Beck or Rush Limbaugh said, but I say what are you doing watching that trash journalism? Why buy the books, why go to the movies or watch them on TV?

For starters I'd really like to see some boycotts of these television 'news' shows and the advertisers who sponsor them.

There is a Son of Sam Law that perps may not profit from selling their stories but since she was not convicted, I guess she can still sell her story. You can't reprogram the no-lifes who will want to read it. It's a no-win.

I'm happy to see that she's being sued by various victims of her actions, and hope her lawyers get paid now that she won't be indigent any more.

First of all who to you blame. It is not her fault that she is free.
The jury is.They could not find any evidence. They could not proved it.
I am not interest in her at all.Could not care less.
Why are people so upset?this will pass.Look at Simpson.
So believed what you want and do not get to heavy in this.
Time to move on and get the budget going. This is far more important than this.Yes,they will get the truth in the near future.
This is my feelings. It all comes down to "Greed"

I'm not blaming her or the jury because she is free. I am saying why don't we decide to not support this party girl who no doubt knows more than she's telling about the death of her child by buying her book, watching her movie, or having anything to do with any media promotion of her. And that goes for all the other low-lifes who make millions off of their bad behavior.

The case was doomed from the start. The US Justice system says you must prove guilt (not innocence) and FL had no weapon, cause of death or witnesses. So the jury did their deed responsibly and Casey walked. BTW: I got so tired of this "event" that I block HLN off my TV. I think it used to be called "Headline News." It was 30 minutes of news. Now it is Nancy Grace and that Velez-Mitchell woman who got run out of LA after she screwed one of the investigators in an LA child molestation case way back when I lived out there. Pitiful stuff. Meanwhile, the headline news for real should be the economy, the wars we are mired into, and very possibly the upcoming date that Solitaire is preparing for!

At least you've stopped watching that channel.

I'm not interested in all this sensationalism (their's, not yours).

It's easy for you and me to say we're going to boycott cell phone companies, drug companies, and whatever advertisers support all the hoopla because you and I aren't big consumers of all that mainstream stuff, we're living the simple rural life.

If she writes a book, the publisher should get as much flack as Harper Collins did for OJ's If I Did It, which got cancelled eventually. (Trust Fox, and News Corp to be so classy as to try to print such a thing.) Maybe the worse concern is if/when Casey A. has another child.

Yes, lets hope there aren't more child victims of that family dynamic. Even Monica Lewinsky had a line of handbags at one time, so who knows what exploitation we are going to see.

The media will attempt to make a buck off of anything that they can sell. The TV station that was on at the doc's office today was not the station they usually tune too. This one was "H" something and was apparently broadcasting live or slightly delayed activity from the court. What I couldn't believe was a discussion about releasing the names of the jurors. Some talking had said that "they (jurors) need to be held accountable"! WTF? If a jury in this country every becomes accountable to the media for handing down an unpopular verdict, Washington might as well close up shop--this country will be finished for good! Simpson was bad, but at least he was in some way a public figure. This crap is simply unacceptable!
Sorry for the rant... guess I should do my own post, but I really had no intention of getting sucked into the crap.

I'm sure the media won't rest until they've tracked down each of those jurors and offered them big money for their story, as if their story is all that riveting now that we know the outcome. Like you say, the jurors don't owe anyone an explanation. It's over and I hope we can all move on.
