Buddy lost one his canine teeth (those big ones fang ones at the front of their mouth), has to chew on the other side of his mouth, and a lot of crumbs escape, so he's a messy eater now. We don't mind as long as he gets enough to eat. Coming up on year 16, his appetite isn't what it used to be, so he's lost a lot of weight.

Lately we've been encouraging him with cat treats and hairball medicine and that has increased his food consumption. He mostly likes the gravy in the canned cat food, and there is never enough, so we stir in water. Buddy drinks a lot of water, which is what older cats need to be doing.

Today I noticed that he's put on a little weight and he's more active, so it has been worthwhile paying extra attention to what we give him.
