I'll admit that I enjoy an "E-life" but nothing will replace people with skin on their faces, books, & a real birthday cake with candles on it

It's a sad day when the only 'people' who wish us Happy Birthday are our facebook friends.

That was cute and even if classes are on line you n eed the stimulation of
student-teacher inter action.

Most learners definitely need the motivation that personal interaction forces onto us. I could read about quilting or knitting online all day long, but if I really want to learn something new, I need to go to a class that requires me to stretch, and an instructor to set me straight.

I am still clinging to some of the old ways. I don't care who gets in touch with me on Facebook. If we're close, I E mail them. Facebook keeps asking me to participate in surveys -- delete, delete, delete.

Ever since you found that young man on facebook, I've had a kinder feeling toward it, although this doesn't mean I'm spending more time there. There is probably a setting in where you can tell it not to send you those surveys.

Thanks, Fredo. Hope you are having a good day today.

I love receiving birthday wishes on Facebook, too. And I love sending them.

More fact than fiction in that little cartoon.

Textbooks will soon be obsolete...all material will be online; and sometime in the future children may well attend all their classes online as well.

I was just reading where broadcast TV is on the way out. When we hear about these coming things, sometimes it's hard to picture, and then it creeps into our lives and we wake up one day, and we are the guy on the right side of that cartoon.

That's NOT going to happen to me on February 29!!!!!

It was one of those 'then and now' emails. I thought from the title it would be about the 1950s.

Sad! I am sure this is true for some - glad it's not true for all! I must say I love all the birthday wishes on facebook.
