Cats and Books

Leave a book or magazine on your bed and it's a cat magnet.

Or stack some cookbooks on the kitchen table.

The latest is a cookbook on the coffee table. He prefers it to the comfy sofa, spending several hours a day gazing toward the back door. We tried padding it with a folded blanket, but he didn't like that, he wants to sit directly on the cookbook.

See that white ribbon on the table in the middle picture? It came wrapped around the egg carton, Buddy's favorite toy.

Favorite sitting for my late cat, Scratch, was on the bills pile while I was writing checks. Had to use one hand to lift his stomach in order to write underneath him. He didn't mind.

It's the mountain lion in him! That 2nd photo really looks like a lion posed on some rocks up in the hills.

I'll tell him you said so, and he'll be pleased because you picked up on the look he was trying to achieve.

Doesn't he though? Maybe I'll make another stack and see if he does it again. (Slow day around here.)

A testament to the intellectual acumen of the feline species!

Yes indeed! I do wonder what it is about the reading material that attracts cats.

Some cat pictures you can almost see them flexing their toes while they purr and look at you.

It's one of my favorite pictures of him, captures the summer reverie.

I wouldn't own a cat but I love to watch their antics!! Did you see aussiegirls video on the big white cats?

Cat's take a fancy to strange things. Maybe he is learning by osmosis.

We can imagine the books emanating some kind of force field that he can sense.
