Next Saturday the USA Pro Cycling Challenge will have a stage in this area.

The racers will go right past our gate on the main road, and I'll be up there to see them go by. It is a sprint race with a winner every day, like the Tour de France, and an overall winner at the end. It's not like an amateur race where there will be front runners and stragglers.
According to the pre-race information, the highway patrol will create a moving box of cars around the racers and the road will open up not long after they pass by. That in itself might be worth seeing.
I can't say the race has brought us more business because the people coming that weekend hadn't heard about it. At least it didn't drive them away when I told them the highway will be closed from noon to 3 pm.
As you can imagine the Chamber of Commerce and town event planners are in a frenzy.
