For the second time in a couple of years someone has stolen our street sign. I'm sure it's some crazy fisherman decorating his den with fishing memorabilia. Why don't they pick on some of the more interesting road signs like Soul Shine Way?
The first time they took our sign, the perps shinnied up the post and unscrewed the bolts. They left all the hardware and small wrench on the ground. We picked up the evidence with gloves on and gave them to the road people in case they wanted to try raising a fingerprint. (Hah!)
This time, those dastards unbolted the post at its base and laid it on the ground to get at the sign, leaving a clean crime scene - no nuts and bolts or wrenches in sight.
The sign at Rainbow Trout Lane around the corner from us was also stolen about a year ago. I don't know if it is still standing or also fell victim to kidnappers.
Temporary sign in place:
The first time, we thought about using crazy glue to secure the bolts, but didn't get around to it. Maybe this time we'll do it.
