Amber Alert

For the second time in a couple of years someone has stolen our street sign. I'm sure it's some crazy fisherman decorating his den with fishing memorabilia. Why don't they pick on some of the more interesting road signs like Soul Shine Way?

The first time they took our sign, the perps shinnied up the post and unscrewed the bolts. They left all the hardware and small wrench on the ground. We picked up the evidence with gloves on and gave them to the road people in case they wanted to try raising a fingerprint. (Hah!)

This time, those dastards unbolted the post at its base and laid it on the ground to get at the sign, leaving a clean crime scene - no nuts and bolts or wrenches in sight.

The sign at Rainbow Trout Lane around the corner from us was also stolen about a year ago. I don't know if it is still standing or also fell victim to kidnappers.

Temporary sign in place:

The first time, we thought about using crazy glue to secure the bolts, but didn't get around to it. Maybe this time we'll do it.

Wish you could catch them in the act.

How really dirty! I thought someone had stolen my trash receptacles but some
sweet neighbor had just brought them up and placed them on the side of the
house.

A guy doing yardwork for us did the same thing and I went nuts trying to find the recycle bins. No No No. That's not where we keep them.

I can just see you out there at the curb looking up and down the street for those containers, and then stomping back inside the house to tell Ted about it.

Amazing...

The county sign department didn't blink - replaced it the next day after I notified them.

Try "SMILE. YOU'RE ON CCTV" on the next sign.

There's a thought. I know of a company that sells fake security stuff and signs like that

Bloody mongrels! trouble is if you secure the bolts and make it hard , they'll take post as well

We'd glue the bolts that hold the post in the sleeve that is buried in the ground - they'd have to dig up that sleeve. Maybe they would.

Maybe it's time for a name change. Brown Turd ln, perhaps?

There you go. That'd be a real eye-catcher for the tourists and Google Map scrollers.

Sounds like "Good old boys" up to dastardly deeds

Sure does. No idea when this happened - sometime between Thursday and Saturday.
