Space Station Photos

In case you don't recognize it, this is Florida.

This one was taken here on earth, obviously, but I liked it.

The main reason my kids are going back to Florida in June is to watch the launch of the final flight of the current space vehicle. Now, if only it goes off on schedule!! They will be there for ten days.

This recent launch was delayed and delayed, but the weather will be more stable when they are there.

Beautiful in a science fiction way. We couldn't have imagined any of
the technology fifty years ago.

I find it hard to believe that the space shuttles are going to be phased out, makes me feel old to see the beginning and end of a big program like that.

Poorly worded on my part. "Where I go" refers to the two weeks in Florida I spend on the Panhandle (Mexico Beach area) in the winter. The night satellite photo shows no lights there!

No offense, but when I see you have posted photos, I often skip your post because it takes so long to get them up (down?) loaded. Like your flowers and Colo. pics. I couldn't resist seeing these. Where I go for two weeks has no lights! No wonder it's called the "Forgotten Coast"!

I always feel guilty when I post pictures because I'm aware of your dialup. You really need to get a DSL modem. I know, I know, it's the same as people telling you to get a cell phone, but you would really enjoy the speed.

Where are you going?

In the photo of Florida at night, I noticed that Martin left his porch light on.

The idea cracks me up. My uncles used to joke that Great Aunt Hallie would use such a small wattage light bulb in her porch light nobody could see it until they were driving up to the house.
