2-day-old fawn rescued from shrinking island in Poudre River

On Friday, members of the Larimer County Dive Team and Larimer County Emergency Services swam out to an island in the Cache La Poudre River to rescue a 2-day-old fawn stranded there after being separated from its mother.
The island, located just east of Overland Park by the Lions Park bicycle bridge, was growing smaller and smaller as the river’s waters rose.
When it arrived, the rescue team lowered a recovery bag to divers, who secured the little spotted fawn within it, according to a Larimer County Sheriff’s Office press release.
The fawn was then hoisted up to the bridge and received by Department of Wildlife officers, who relocated the baby animal in grass close to where its mother was seen.

that Mom will ever find it.
