I ventured forth to California over the weekend. I went to see my mom for Mother's Day. I had made the arrangements more than a month ago. Something unexpected always happens.
last Sunday, in one of my spending fits, I decided I needed some new cross trainers. So, I went to Academy here near my house. I purchased a brand new pair of Under Armour trainers. I wore them to the gym Monday night. When I returned home, I found two, large, unpopped blisters on my left heel. No big deal, they would go away. Well, I worked out all week with the blisters bothering me. They never popped. I looked at them occasionally. they were hard and full. But, They never popped.
Friday morning, I catch the plane to Phoenix. I think the flight is a little cold. I arrive in Phoenix. I think the Phoenix airport is cold. If you have ever flown through Phoenix, you know the airport is not cold. I catch the flight to Bakersfield. I arrive at my mom's. I am ok, but it is chilly in my mom's house. I have been up since 3 AM California time, so I decide to catch a quick nap. I wake up about an hour later, shivering in the cold. It hits me. I have a fever. I ask mom if she has a thermometer. I take my temperature. I look in disbelief so I check it again. 103.8 I don't feel sick. Where could the infection be. It hits me again, the blisters. I pop them and the nastiest, bloodiest, blackest red puss comes oozing out.
Anyway, too late to make a long story short. The blisters had become infected. I am disabled from working out until they heal. Tomorrow, I may go buy some nu-skin and see if I can do it that way. i feel very badly about not working out. I miss it.
My mom is doing well. It was great to see her. We do best in short doses. My sister is doing ok. It was actually nice to see her. My mom's husband, F, is doing well too. They have a good life out there in California. They are somewhat into their routine. But I guess at there age, they are entitled.
I arrived back home this morning at 2:25 AM CST. I am tired.
