Our water meter was leaking, so Ed called the water company and they are working on it. They started two hours ago, it is late in the afternoon, and the water is off. I guess I can cobble up dinner without water but I can’t clean up. I walked out to check on them and there was a guy in the newly dug ditch filled with water and in it up to his waste. Now we have a torrential rain storm and the TVs are on the blink, so I went out to see if they had left because of the storm. They’re out there working because, he explained, we have to have water. Bless them. Note: This kind of service is unheard of in New York City, much as I love and miss it for a host of other reasons.
xx, Teal
