Google Schmoogle

I don't know how to use Google's various sign-on sites. I have an account, but don't know what it is for. When I am on another site and it offers to send a photo by E mail, it comes up with a Google E mail and I don't use one.

I don't know why now, but I recently updated my Google password. That was tedious and the phone no. I had given them was my cell phone and they verified by sending me a text message. Then they wanted a second E mail. I haven't used my G mail ever and it may have timed out. In any case, they did NOT want an e mail alternate that was from Google. And they wouldn't let me save the page because I couldn't provide one and I don't have one.

Finally I just clicked out.

They have help sections that have pre-selected problems they address. None of them addressed my problem. It is impossible to tell Google anything they aren't programmed for. What a nightmare.

People are all huffy about the NSA, but Google and Facebook gather tons of information about their customers that they sell to advertisers. Just the other day I saw where google scans their customers' gmail messages for key words so that custom advertising can be sent to their computers. For example, if someone writes about pregnancy in a gmail, they start seeing ads for baby-related stuff while browsing the Internet.

Very true, Google et al really do track you as if they were the NSA.

Same thing happens on this blog. Key words are highlighted. In your comment just now, "about pregnancy" is highlighted, so you can click on it and "get stuff." And when I look at my posts, throughout, things I mention that could lead to money being spent are highlighted.

Google is more than a search engine. I get enough of their pop ups that I am tempted to use them but don't know how and they don't make it easy. If I understood it, I'd explain it and I can't. Often I am on a site that invites me to send them an e mail so I click on that in that site and I get a Google account that I am not signed on to. So I have to copy their e mail address and click out of everything and go to my regular e mail.

I really don't follow what you are saying or trying to do---I use google doc and search, images and have their e-mail in case anything goes young with Yahoo--I don't have problems with it--and remember I am an Internet dummy and take pride in it!!
