August 19th ...

I wasn't going to mention it, but this was my mom's birthday. I mentioned it to one of my favorite bloggers on this site, but couldn't explain... It's been years since she left, but it's still too hard to explain. She was a rock. She had such strength. That's about as much as I can say...

My dad's birthday is next Tuesday. That's all I'm going to mention that, too.

Hugs. She lives in your memory just like my wonderful father does in mine.
My memories of my Mom are there too but since we got along like oil and water, they aren't as tender.

I am thinking about you. These days can be really difficult. With both of my parents having passed away when I was younger, I can really understand!

We lost my dad 16 August 1980. At least once a week I have the urge to turn around and to speak with him.

I understand and I am SO SORRY for your pain, Sunni! The separation between my father and I is sometimes almost more than I can bear, and he's been gone for six years! I think about him every single day of my life.
Remember what the poet said, "It is better to have love and lost than never to have loved at all."
