Stephen Bartlett
Dedicated club member, loving husband, father, grandpa

October 23, 2008 - 12:00 am

EPSOM - Stephen "Bam-Bam" Bartlett, 46, passed away Friday, Oct. 17, 2008, from injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident.

Bam is survived by his wife of 24 years, Sheila (Champney) Bartlett; a daughter, Amber Bartlett; a granddaughter, Indigo James; a son, Donald Champney; brothers, Tom Fortier and Rob Bartlett; mother, Carol Velsor; sisters, Lynn Ann Perry and Brenda Bartlett; many nieces and nephews; and his brothers of the road.

Bam was predeceased by his fathers, Albert Fortier and Bob Bartlett.

Bam was born in Exeter more than likely with a wrench in his right hand and a Harley manual in the other.

Bam ran and owned Steve's Small Engine Repair in Pittsfield. In his shop he built and designed many Harley-Davidson motorcycles.

Bam was a member of the Red Emeralds MC for more than 20 years and the president for many of those years.

Throughout the years, Bam has turned his love of the open road and the knowledge of motors into a lifestyle that suited him and all that knew him. Bam was a man of many facets: avid hunting and fishing enthusiast; steel erector and metal fabricator; snowmobile and motorcycle enthusiast; engine mechanic.

Everyone who has had the pleasure of coming into his circle of being will remember who he was.

Children will remember him as the giant who would bring you into the shop and let you get your hands dirty. Adults will remember the man who didn't take any B.S., but was quick to offer his hand in assistance.

Everyone will remember "that one time" because there were so many.

Calling hours will be held Saturday from 10 a.m. to noon at Boar's Tavern, 58 Route 129, Loudon. A memorial ride to Mcleary Cemetery, Epsom, will follow.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Stephen "Bam-Bam" Bartlett Memorial Fund, c/o TD Banknorth

Happy Cooking,
Sum
