This morning came early because they are four hours ahead here. We went out for breakfast this morning, then went walking in old San Juan. I didn't take the frog, Spots, because I didn't plan on exploring or carrying it.
Talked with the girls back home this morning. Kitty had a girl over for a sleep over and they are spending the day together too, so with school during the week and activities on the weekend, she won't miss me so much. She will if she has a fight with mom, because I'm not there to referee so she'll want to appeal to me and end up crying and missing me. That's what I usually hear when get back.
We stopped at a grocery store for supplies and saw an old pickup with four horses in the bed. On the road again we saw another one with two horses. The truck beds had railings on the sides with a loading ramp on the back, so they wouldn't fall out, but they are big animals to have moving around freely back there.
It's about 90deg F here and I'm waiting for the maintenance guys to come fix the sink with the door open. It runs when "turned off". Once I had it so it was just dripping, but can't repeat it.
It's later now. Bed time. I washed the last two days' clothes in the sink. The air conditioner cools off the room, but does little for the humidity, so clothes dry very slowly. The air conditioner makes the window rattle, but the consequences of turning it off are worse. It drowns out the dripping sink as well.
The sink continues to drip because no one can look at it until tomorrow. The late afternoon and evening was spent sitting around snacking and drinking. I would have preferred to unpack and exercise a bit before dinner or at least spend some time in my room or even try to figure out why we can't connect to the hotel's wireless network. I'll have to wait until tomorrow to sort those things out and maybe "put my foot down about all this unproductive socializing. I don't drink or like to snack, remember, so all this sitting around doing nothing, in the heat with the mosquitoes sucking on me, annoys me. Talking about something is one thing, but when there are so many other things to do, no.
The tropical climate, which I don't like, is much different from California cool and dry. Nothing I can't deal with though.
