The approach to Oak Alley is also from the rear. The house is pale pink, not white.
Again, we weren't allowed to take pictures inside, but we could from the veranda. This is the view from the front of the house toward the river. That hill in the distance is the levee.
Front of Oak Alley.
This is the front approach to the house. The bricks were only added a few years ago, and there was formerly only the raised walkway or drive. The oaks were planted about a hundred years before this house was built.
