The weekend was filled with the usual stuff, except Kitty was at a Girl Scout camping trip, so Dolly and I went out to eat and we didn't need a sitter.
Sunday I saw that some of the kohlrabis were big so I turned them into coleslaw. I don't really know what else to do with them, since they are similar to cabbage, the slaw works.
I did forget to go to the pet store for chicken supplies. Need to do that during the week or they will run out of food.
I'm currently reading "The Years", by Virginia Woolf. Last night they were at the mother's graveside after the funeral and the narrator was describing Eleanor's thoughts: "She was afraid she might faint; but she must look; she must feel; it was the last chance that was left her." That reminded me of my maternal grandmother's funeral, where my paternal relatives had the attitude that "it's over now, move on" and my maternal relatives wanted to take the time to grieve, which, like Eleanor, I think is a healthier approach.
