Here's wishing a Happy Thanksgiving to one and all!

My twin sisters, father, and I will be gathering this PM for our Thankgiving meal of ham (it's really cheap in Indiana's sluggish pork market). I've just finished making persimmon bread, sweet potato/pear casserole, and my mother's scalloped corn.

Because my daughters are going to in-laws for Thanksgiving meals, they decided to have THEIR big meal yesterday (Wed). I was invited and accepted, despite knowing my ex-wife (and creapy husband) was there. The lure of my annual turkey leg was too great. Plus, I wanted to see my kids all together and new grandson.

My ex brought the photo albums she swiped when we divorced. I looked at pictures I hadn't seen in 25 years. What mixed emotions poured through my mind and heart. Seeing my children--then and now. Bitter and sweet. A time long gone. What immense and profound changes have occurred.

The girls are all coming over later today for "coffee and dessert" before they all go their separate ways (Honduras and California, with one "nearby"). More emotions. I'm not sure I can handle it all. Wish me luck.
