This Can't Wait

I usually post every other day, but this can't wait. Besides, it's Leap Day, a very special day!

First (again), the house situation. Well, it's there! Today they place it over the "poured" basement. I watched the final move ALL DAY. Gawkers came and went. The newspaper guys returned--a write-up in today's paper. I can't believe how this turned into a news maker. I'll be going back out "to the scene of the crime" today. Last night's rain shouldn't prevent them from completing the project.
(paper article found >jconline.com<, I think)

It's so warm (65, but windy) today, I'm tempted to go golfing. House first, then we'll see.

My doctor's visit was good. No problems. As usual, my total cholesterol number was high (244), but my HDL is 90, so he said the ratio (to LDL) was good. It didn't warrant drugs. All systems go. I thought my BP would be high, what with the stress of the house move and just going to the doctor, but it was 122/68!! "Continue what you're doing", the doc said.

Good PBS special on the Amish last night. We have many around here (called German Baptists).
Have a great day.

Geez.. German baptists? I lik'em better as Amish. I often joke about joing them when I bend mower blades or can't get the chainsaw running.... Anyway, I take a scripted fish oil for cholesterol. Not only does it work, but on the news last night they said that fish oil (eating fish too) helps prevent cognitive degeneration. I already have "senior moments" so I suppose I'm doing a good thing on two counts.

I take fish oil supplements, too. Sardines for lunch. Lots of tuna and salmon in my diet. Seldom red meat. Still..... There was something else, but I forgot what it was!

I hope the placing goes well. If you got as much rain overnight as we did, combined with the melting snow, that field is a mud pit. My tulip and daff leaves are up now. They must have been hiding under the snow. Yay! Spring is in sight.

I saw a purple jonquil (?) in my yard yesterday! Earliest ever. We got about 3 tenths of an inch of rain--enough to prevent the workers from working. I think they use any excuse--moon phases, wind direction, something! It was windy yesterday, however.

Hooray for the successful house move! Whew, glad that's over, aren't you?
Good health news, too!
I enjoyed "The Amish" program, too. PBS's "American Experience" series is terrific.
Happy Leap Day!

I'm tired of the move if, for no other reason, all the news interviews. Another one yest. Who would have thunk it was such a big deal?!
