Tom Sawyer Revisited

It's not too late--I don't want to deprive anyone of joining in on the fun I'm having. There's plenty more to go.

'Tis the season--raspberry picking time in Indiana. Consider what you're missing:
--Getting that summer tan and vitamin D at solstice time. Sure, it's a little warm (95 F, high humidity, no breeze), but it beats the alternative (winter).
--Nature's little beasties. Gnats buzzing in your ears, deer flies circling your head, mosquitoes taking blood samples, ticks and chiggers crawling up your leg, and more!
--Thorns to scratch and puncture exposed flesh. War wounds!
--Poison ivy, stinging nettles, pollen (ah choo!).
--Exercise stooping, bending, reaching. Great for the back.
--Stains on hands and clothes (and teeth).

All this and more awaits you at the Smith raspberry patches (black and red). But you wouldn't like it. It's almost like having fun. The berries aren't bad tasting either!

(PS: I've picked over 5 gallons this week alone with another week to go. Pie anybody?)
