Since the weather has taken a turn for the worse, I've been stuck inside--today being the third in a row.
So I've taken the opportunity to do some Spring cleaning. That includes cobwebs, corners, removal for dusting (not just around), mopping--well, you know. I mean, I keep a fairly clean house, but I get lazy. Nobody sees it but me.
Anyway, I got to thinking. What I really need is a makeover!
Yes, the house is mine and reflects my tastes, but yet it still has "leftovers" from two ex-wives and four (actually 7 including step) children.
The bedroom of my now 26 year old son remains untouched since he left 8 years ago. Frilly curtains adorn the windows. I don't like some furniture. Rearranging doesn't seem to help. Like clothes in my closet, I'd like to take everything outside, put them in a big pile, and torch it.
And then, there are the repairs to be made. Little things like loose wallpaper or taking off the ugly paneling in my son's old room. There's much work to be done, but I'm either too lazy or indecisive as to what to do.
However, when my second wife moved in, all sorts of things were remodeled--some for the better, some I've regretted. I don't like my kitchen, for example. So I have to make a decision: either keep things the way they are, or find another woman to make changes--perhaps to my chagrin. I'm not likely to renovate any time soon.
