After three gorgeous days, it's a gloomy, rainy Sunday. I don't do church (I used to be a Unitarian) anymore, but I am listening to some nice choral music as I type.
I got the first chapter of my garden all planted and fenced in (about 30x40'worth). That's the "rabbit food" section. I won't have to fence corn or hill crops. Rabbits don't eat them, and deer and raccoons aren't stopped by fences.
I've sprayed my fruit trees and lawn. It's preventative. Otherwise, I try to restrain myself from insect spraying.
Since borrowing a trap from my neighbor, I have caught 4 ground squirrels and a chipmunk (which I didn't know I had any of). They have been driven miles away and released. As annoying as they are, I can't make myself shoot them. Besides, I don't own a gun.
Yes, it's a day to stay indoors. Good thing, too. I hiked 7 miles yesterday and got a pair of blisters. My hiking boots had sand in them left from my Florida trip, and without realizing it, the small grains eventually irritated the soles of my feet enough to cause the blisters. I'll ride the stationary bike for my exercise today. No excuses.
