Not the nun type, but my sibling sister Barb has been staying with me all week. She lives in Virginia (Shen. Val.), and is here to celebrate my and Dad's birthdays (on the 24th and 25th). My father and sister combined for a piano concert for all the "old" people that live in his retirement community. My only involvement was to turn pages! The piano was a clunker, which distressed my professional musician sister greatly. But the show went on, and the audience seemed to enjoy the mixture of classic, oldies, and jazz (dad).
Then we had a nice birthday party at my house adding my daughter and Barb's twin Carole to the attendance list.
Barb walks 3 miles every morning before breakfast, so I've altered my routine to join her. We're going out to the family farm (5 miles away)this PM to investigate a future possible house site for her (and maybe me) in the woods. She's 64, divorced, and ready to move back to her home land.
Tomorrow we're going tombstone hunting and visit my daughter's new home for the first time. She and her husband got caught up in the housing crunch--he in construction--had to file for bankruptcy, and will be moving out of their beautiful house in a month. They've worked so hard, only to have their lives crushed. Her expectation of their first child has cheered her up, so that's a good thing.
That's all for now. Enjoy the rest of the week.
