Admittedly, I live and love to eat! I am constantly thinking about food--what I just ate and what I'm going to eat next.
While morning jogging or golfing, I'll be planning lunch and supper. Anticipation is one of the joys of eating.
I enjoy most any food--I'm not too picky. But since I cook solely for myself, I can choose whatever my heart desires. I try to eat "properly" with lots of fruits and vegetables. Fortunately, since I grow much of my own food, I have an abundance of garden goodies. Sometimes, it's difficult to make a decision as to what vegetables to eat. Hence, stir fry's are a staple. Throw them all in!
Contrary to popular belief (because of my weight and thin frame), I'm a big eater at supper time. It's often difficult for me to stop before I explode. Cereal, O.J., and coffee for breakfast; fruit with yogurt, carrot or broccoli stick, sardines or P.B. on crackers, and a cookie for lunch. Anything goes for supper.
I'm lucky that many of my favorite foods are also good for me health-wise. I enjoy berries on my cereal, walnuts on fruit. I like fish and chicken and avoid cow and pig meat. Sweet potatoes over white. Even my desserts are healthy--lots of fruit crisps or banana bread, etc.
But I must admit, I have a sweet tooth for chocolate and pies (I made a pumpkin pie yest.) and ice cream. In moderation, it's not too bad. The key to keeping my weight down is exercise. I live to eat, so I must work very hard at keeping the balance, calorie wise, steady.
And yes, I know exactly what I'm having for supper tonight.
