I didn't exactly jump up and down (like I did when Obama was elected), but there was good news on the side of progression yesterday.
First, the "Copenhagen Accord" was agreed to. For environmentalists like myself, that's a step in the right direction. It's a sign of hope for CO2 emissions to be curtailed throughout the world. Of course, time will tell if any of this "talk" will produce any action. But it's better than doing nothing.
Second, Cngress is one step closer to passing a comprehensive health bill! Overall, I think it's the right thing to do. Admittedly, I haven't read the details (who has?), but generally, it has to be better than having nothing at all. (Sounds like I'm repeating myself.)
Agreeing with these two issues makes me a liberal Democrat, I suppose. Progression suits me just fine. I'm for change if it helps my fellow man and his world. Women's lib, gay rights, racial equality, etc. are/were all for the good of our society and country. We can't just sit back and leave things the way they are. Conservative Republicans be damned.
