Dr. Mercola's Advice

Thanks to Ana (of Anacoana), I subscribe to Dr. Mercola's newsletter (via email). Today's mailing was chock full of good stuff. If I knew how to transfer it to this post, I would. I'll have to summerize. The articles hit home for me.

1. "Being bored is bad for you health". Studies show that the more bored one is, the greater liklihood of an early death. Sitting around watching TV all day isn't exactly good for your health. The article recommends "getting active". Duh.

2. Related to that is "healthy alternatives to anxiety drugs". Again, become more active to get those endorphins to kick in for a less stressful life.

3. "43 ways to simplify your life". Some are inane, some valuable, but it's fun to compare them to your own ways. You'll have to look them up--I ain't listing them.

4. Eat blueberries!! We all know the importance of this wonder fruit, but this article amplifies its value, especially in the area of intestinal disorders (which I suffer from). I didn't know this. I'm lucky to have a blueberry farm 10 minutes from my house. I'm really going to stock up on them this summer. They freeze well. I've read where black raspberries are even better, with three times the antioxidant powers.

5. Drink Tulsi herb tea. This was a new one for me. Never heard of it. But it's supposed to be wonderful for you. Has anyone tried it? It's another stress related product.

6. Be sure your multi-vitamin has what it takes.

Of course, Dr. Mercola is trying to sell you his products. The articles are come-ons. But, they are informative. And, being the health nut (mini-nut) that I am, I'm open to suggestions about how to improve my life. With the stress and anxiety of my Hawaiian adventure coming up, I need all the help I can get. Deep breath, relax. Be calm. There.

See you all in less than two weeks.
