Par For The Course

Life & Events > Bits and Pieces

Bits and Pieces

70 degrees yesterday! Played golf and shot one over par (73)! Yes, this is December. Rain front moving through as I write.

Well, after my ex-wife was in my house twice on Sunday, accompanying our daughter and her two children, I was "ill" all evening and had a horrible nights sleep. I just couldn't shake my "upsetedness" (new word). She ruined my time with my grand-kids. They were all out buying a christmas tree from a tree farm. Why my ex had to go with them is the question. Lonely and needy, I suppose.

So I finally got the nerve to email Emily expressing my feelings and concerns. It was cathartic in a sense. 24 hours later and no response. Hope I didn't cross the line, but enough is enough and something has to give.

If I hear "fiscal cliff" one more time (inevitable), I think I'll scream. Toss in the adjective "so-called".

I see that an Indiana judge ruled against an atheist group requesting marriage "solemnizations" be performed by someone secular rather than clergy or a government official.
Reason? Tradition. It's not "morally correct". Can you believe it? Stone age mentality.

I have more "bits and pieces", but I'll close. Peace.

I think it was appropriate for you to express your discomfort about your ex interloping on your time and space. Hopefully the word is out to the ex as well. If not, perhaps the next letter could be sent to her directly.

My daughter responded in an understanding way. So far, so good. Thanks for the support.

it was nice here as well for a few days, but the cold is returning!

It is fine that ex went with them for the tree buying but no need to stop by your place with her. You can see grandkids another time without her presence.

Then again, I couldn't just let her sit in her car. By me being nice, she's taking advantage of the situation.

Why don't they just get married by a JP, Mayor or some such? Sounds like a frivolous lawsuit even though I don't disagree with the sentiment.

Yeah. I think it's just a matter of principle. We atheists get tired of being under the dictatorship of the religious ways of the past. Don't get me started!

Wow, one over!!! That's very good, buddy. While you were hitting that little ball around the course, I was having a root canal...

My handicap is 3.5, so my score was better than average. I've never had a root canal, but I'm due for one--actually two!
