Like many of you, I've been watching the series about our National Parks. The photography and collection of old photos is stunning. (I do get tired of hearing horses whinnying, locomotives tooting, etc., as sound effects accompanying the narrative.)
If there is one thing that has impressed me about the entire history behind the parks, it's the fact that one person drives "the cause", whatever it may be. That one person, whether it be an environmentalist or a president, can make things happen, overcoming great obstacles with persistence and vigilance.
Time and time again, a single individual makes right from wrong. It restores my faith and confidence that good things can occur, triumphing over evil. Of course, I still get upset that there is so much greed and selfishness in man that it takes legislation to accomplish victory.
One single solitary individual is all it takes.
Enjoy your weekend.
