Whirl Wind of Change
Whirl Wind of Change
So a lot has been happening in my world since I returned from the Grand Canyon.
I feel like a new woman and I'm open for change. Which is a good thing, because I lost my job of 4 years - almost to the day. So change is now rampant in my world. I found out officially on Friday and was given two weeks notice, one week to work and one week severance.
I also got a jury summons and am on call this week for jury duty but have yet to be called in. After 5pm each night, I call into an automated system to find out if I need to report. It's my first jury summons in California.
I finished my 4th Half Marathon on Sunday. I had pushed my training to be able to complete it. My ankle in a little sore but I'm hopeful for faster recovery. It was great to be able to run with so many friends on the course. I ran the first three with our slow and steady runner, the Green Girl as she calls herself. I even went back to run the last mile with Jackie who was finishing her first full marathon to give her a boost. And while I waited for her gave a pep talk to a guy who looked very much in pain, he thanked me and hobbled on to the finish line.
I'm finally letting go of all my bitterness towards Thom. I thought I was passed it after a couple months but training for the race brought out more deep seeded feelings and through training and talking, I got it all out. It helped to see him at a party a few weeks back and to be able to avoid him all night. Our friends were understanding that I wasn't ready to be around him. It gave me a little freedom to know that I can move on now.
Which means, I'm ready to start dating. Watch out world, I'm ready for a new job and a new man, and I want, need and deserve a much better version of both.
