First Stop Thai Elvis
I picked up my childhood friend at the bus station last night. I had her take a shuttle to the side of town that I work on so I wouldn't have to drive to LAX. Ask anyone in LA who doesn't live near LAX to pick you up or drop you off there and they will automatically groan.
On my way to my place she mentioned that she was hungry and wanted Chinese Food, I told her in LA, Thai is the better substitute and ended up taking her to Palms Thai.
I was worried that since her religion doesn't believe in using musical instruments during service that would mean that she didn't listen to anything but acappella and I was relieved that she was happy to listen to the musical stylings of an Elvis impersonator. She was very impressed with Thai Elvis .... he is rather incredible.
We stayed up till midnight talking. We caught up on so much and after 20 years there's a lot to catch up on. She let me know that the good church ladies have finally come around.
After work we're going on a hike. She called her husband this morning and I had her clarify to him that we were climbing a mountain. She made sure to tell him to tell her boys that their mom was gonna climb a mountain today.
Tomorrow we're off to the beach.
