My First Run in the Dark
Again, not a metaphor. I was so late getting out of work that I had trouble finding parking near the park. I started my run at 6:40pm and did my third and last lap in the dark with my running buddy, Mace. *wink
I'm so glad I bought a small can of pepper spray that straps to my hand. It made me feel a lot safer. I knew that no one would bother me, but you just have to be prepared. I put on my pissed-off face as a warning signal that just because I can run doesn't mean I won't fight if attacked.
I never disliked Fall until I became more active outdoors.
Which reminds me that I should really look into a self defense class. I took one many ages ago but a refresher course might be needed.
Next week I'll print out the 2 week pass to Ballys and try out their indoor running track. Maybe I can get away with only a one month membership before the Half Marathon.
So far my training is going well despite the little cold I picked up on Saturday. I'm fighting the cold germs tooth and nail. It's not gonna get me down!
