Re-motivated to Workout

I didn't realize that it's been over a week since I have posted a blog.

For those of you on Spark, I posted a blog there on the Spark People Convention last Saturday. To sum it up here, I wish I were a bigger sponge to absorb everything that happened in a mere 10 hour day. It was incredible.

I went to the doctor two days ago. The lab results aren't back yet but she felt that I looked healthy overall and is pleased with my maintaining weight loss.

She and I are both concerned that my Achilles is still not healed after six weeks. She felt both my ankles and confirmed that my left is still warmer to the touch. In two weeks she wants me to see a doctor about it, not just a physical therapist. Despite the costs, I am itching to do more physical activities and might just have to go and see for the $40 co-pay.

Swimming, while a great challenge and a fantastic cardio workout, is still not my thing. I did manage to knock out 12 laps (24 lengths of the lap pool) last night with short breathing breaks every couple laps. A large improvement in the last three weeks for me.

I think one of my problems is that the temp gym that I joined to use their lap pool, stinks. Literally the place reeks of body odor. The other gyms I have belonged to have not overwhelmed my weak sense of smell like this place. Who carpets the locker room?!!!

I'm so happy that I only joined on a monthly basis and can easily ditch this stinky gym. I think I'll work out a deal to have access on the weekends to my spinning gym's other location which has a lovely indoor lap pool. It's just a little too far to use on a daily basis. I think in the long run, (hehe, run) I'll be much happier there.

Oh, and with the help of Coach Nicole's Workout Videos on Spark People dot com, I have taken off a few of those pounds I put on when I first got injured.

I'm back to strength training and it feels so good.
