Post Race Blues
Post Race Blues
I got the blues on Monday morning. I had read about it happening to other runners before. All the endorphins you get after the race eventually wear off and can give you a bit of a let down. Combine that with PMS and way too much sleep, and I broke out in tears on Monday morning when Thom teased me for using the wrong word.
He immediately felt bad and I told him I just had the blues so he had me curl up on the couch in his arms so he could comfort me while we watched Law and Order reruns.
I may complain about him but he really is a good man.
December is always a fun month for me. I'm not a ba-hum-bug about the holidays but I do agree that the true spirit is smothered by commercialism. A friend gave me and Thom tickets to see the Disney Concert Hall's Christmas Chorale last Saturday. He got grouchy but agreed to go as it was a generous gift. The cheap seats there are worth sixty bucks. Plus we had both never been and may never get to go again. The architecture of the building is something to behold. I remember seeing them build it as it's near the MOCA. The angles and steel are awe inspiring.
I made Thom crack up when they had the crowd do sing-alongs. I enjoy carols despite my out-of-tune voice and I think my spirit finally rubbed off on him as he sang Deck the Halls too.
Oh, and in case you are worried, the post race blues wore off as quickly as the endorphins did.
Happy Wednesday!
