Post Birthday
I had the cruddiest day at work on Tuesday starting with stopping for coffee and having my car not start. I had left the lights on and that was enough to drain the battery. I called TripleA but after sitting there for 10 minutes the car battery decided to cooperate with me.
The rest of the work day just felt tedious and I counted the hours until I left work. Co-workers tried to cheer me up but to no avail and tears were shed a couple times that day. I don't dislike my birthday and think it was mere coincidence that I was unhappy on that day. It happens. I'm not always a shinny ball of light.
Luckily Thom and my very good friends cheered me up at the pizza joint after work. It was great to see HawkWoman, Sassee, and the others.
I was surprised that so many people showed on a Tuesday night. I had quite a few friends who called who could not make it due to holiday parties, travel and work. Which was expected with a birthday close to the big holiday season.
I took Wednesday off, which was much needed. Because it rained all day, Thom and I stayed in and were couch potatoes. He made the most amazing omelet for breakfast (egg, spinach, red & yellow peppers, goat cheese, walnuts all topped with balsamic dressing - Yum!) Later we ordered pizza and he gave me a special popcorn snack that made me faint and get really sick. My body is a temple of health and the temple guards get all riled up when foreign substances enter the temple. So far the only chemical substances that are allowed are chocolate, coffee, beer and booze.
I don't think I have ever fainted before in my life and Thom said he has never seen anyone faint. He told me that I just fell backwards, flat as a board with my eyes open. Then the next thing I knew Thom was kneeling over me and I was on the floor. Him asking me if I'm alright and me asking him if I passed out. Luckily I didn't hit anything on my way down. My butt absorbed most of the fall and it still hurts!
So mental note, gotta stop trying to keep up with my high tolerance boyfriend especially with my exercise-accelerated metabolism.
Looking forward to the weekend... another countdown begins to another day off.
