My parents have been driving across country since Tuesday afternoon and arrive today from the Grand Canyon where they were sight seeing yesterday. I've been trying to clean up my place after recovering from the cold from hell, while trying to respect the recovery of my Achilles. It's been tough but it had to be done since my parents stay with me.
My parents are arriving in a Red 2008 Pontiac Vibe that they bought for me in exchange for the Caddy. They are driving the Caddy back and my Dad is giving it to his best friend who is equally excited to get the 20 year old Fleetwood as I am about getting the 1 year old sporty hatchback.
In the meantime, I joined yet another gym, this one with a pool that is located half way between work and home. (Put the other two on medical hold). I did several laps in the small shallow lap pool yesterday morning. It was tough since I rarely swim and my lower body is significantly stronger than my upper body.
I'm still struggling mentally with having to rest and recover my Achilles. Swimming laps, while a great cardio workout and upper-body strengthener which I need, is not as fun for me. I really miss Spin Class and Running.
I tried out the recumbent bike as well and struggled to keep a slow and steady speed. I felt compelled to crank up the tension and peddle till I puke to match the music I was listening to. Joan Jett's rendition of "Love is All Around" got me revved up.
I am mentally ill, I think.
