A Little Rain Never Hurt Anyone
Woke up this morning to the sound of rain. Normally a sound that makes me feel cozy and warm all snug in my bed but this morning, the pitter-patter of raindrops against the window meant no chance of getting in my training run this morning.
So I got up and did some yoga to de-stress from the night before. After writing my post last night I noticed that my ankle hurt but that turned out to be a bruise and it was fine during my yoga practice. Must have happened in the frenzy of riding my new bike.
I went out to my car to check the status of the battery and the Caddy must have gotten over it's jealousy of the new bicycle, it started! So I didn't have to jump start the car this morning and especially didn't have to do it in the rain.
I walked to my polling place and all in all waited a little less than an hour to vote. There was a very positive vibe in the crowd. A little girl about two-years old shouted out, "Obama! No on 8!" and the crowd laughed. An older woman refused to cut the lines due to her disability and the people around her got her a plastic chair and helped her move it each time the line moved.
Overall, a positive experience despite the line.
I have an election party to go to tonight. Thom couldn't bare being glued to the results all night and is staying home alone. Since I feel like I can't skip a training run this close to the race, I'm going to hit the treadmill at the gym before going to the party. I haven't run on a treadmill in months so that will be an adventure. LOL
Looking forward to the results tonight... and pizza to boot!
