Happy Thyroid, Happy Thoughts
Finally, my doctor got back from vacation last week and the message I left with someone other than her receptionist (urrrrrgh), got to her and she called me back Thursday evening.
She agreed to let me switch back to the previous thyroid meds (which I had done that morning anyway since I was out of the 112mcg and still had 125mcg in my medicine cabinet from before the switch. There was no way I was going to pay for more 112s when they made me feel so crazy!) Just 2 days back on the old meds and I felt like myself again. My doc really is great and she called me again on Saturday to see if I was feeling better.
I confessed to Thom about my crazy thoughts of being determined to break up with him, and at the same time was ready to quit my job and thinking of taking Rigby to the shelter if she peed outside her box again. I was super stressed, super depressed and I cried almost daily. It was awful!
I clung just enough to my sanity to know not to make any big decisions like that until after talking to my doctor.
The thyroid is so powerful. Being on the wrong hormone supplement had so many side affects that I cannot even list them all out. But the big one was depression.
After 5 minutes face to face on Saturday, Thom told me that I truly looked happier than I have in weeks.
All is well again in my world, and Rigby is also doing better on her antibiotic meds. We're both so much happier now. She's following me to the laundry room again. She's even back to doing her super polite way of asking for attention which is to place a delicate paw on me and meow. It's so freakin' cute.
Ahhhhhhh, I really feel so much better.
