Gearing up to Run 13.1
I'm getting so excited about my next race! In one week and two days I will be running my second Half Marathon!
My new running shirt arrived on Tuesday, a sleek black shirt with the sparkling letters "See Jane Run" which I've been training in ever since.
I can feel the anxious energy from my tapering already starting. Tapering is when you train less the week or two before a race to store up energy for race day. It works, I can tell you. It's been tough to slow down. LOL Only running 6-8 tomorrow, 3 on Tuesday and 2 on Thursday.
Okay, I realize that you don't all need to know any of this...
Mainly I'm excited about the race, meeting my online running buddies the night before, going to Sassee's baby shower, that lil sis is visiting Valentine's weekend and I'm so happy that I have very little planned this weekend since the next three weekends will be crazy. I really need some time to myself to start cleaning my apartment up for lil sis' visit. Even though she'll be staying in a hotel with her BF, I don't want her to see the slob that I have become.
I'm a bundle of nervous energy and hopefully I can contain it and harness it for race day - Sunday, February 1, 2009.
