Yeah,, Flo has been hard at work putting up the decorations. The electric bill will probably go through the roof. Maybe I can skim off her tips!
Anyway, We are originally from Chicago, and moved to Florida 16 years ago. I still miss the cold weather, and snow, I don't care what anyone else says about it.
There are northern traditions, and southern traditions, when it comes to Christmas.
This Southern Tradition you will not find up north, guaranteed.
Jacksonville holds its annual "Christmas Boat Parade" every Saturday after Thanksgiving.
A place called the landings is one of the places to watch the parade, and on the other side of the river called "The South Bank" (See if you can figure that out!) is the second place to watch.

At the Landings (really a small shopping mall on the river) they put up the town Christmas tree, have high school choir's come out and sing,, Drink beer and watch the boats float by with all the lights on them.

But the highlight of the parade, and very typical for down south is,,,,,,
The fireworks! They shoot off more fireworks down here than any other state in the union. They shoot them off for Xmas, new years, fourth of July, Presidents Day, and Ground Hog Day!!

Heck they even shoot them off from the bridges over the river!!
