Yes, the few, the proud the Marines, they need every ones help this year.
My Toys For Tots event is this Saturday. Today I stopped by the Armory to pick up some buttons to hand out to the donors, and got a look in the gym. I was talking to the Gunnery Sgt. in charge and he was telling me how the donations were down. He said they had one bike, and they just gave that away, it even had a flat tire but the parents were glad to get it.
I told him our event was Saturday and we are pushing the bikes and toys, and already have collected over $250 in cash that will be turned over. He was really moved, you could see it on his face. He thanked me and our club and told me that this year they really need all the help they can give.
I know times are tight for everyone, but if you can, look for the red and white Toys For Tots drop box's no matter what toy you can drop in the box, it will be more than what some underprivileged child would normally get.
