Orlando and Points South

Holly, Bevan and the kiddos will be leaving for Orlando and points south on vacation Monday morning.  Their flight is early, so they will have to leave the house at 'dark thirty' to get to the airport in time for the five of them to go through the new inspection protocol.
They are checking in through the international terminal, so they very well may get the full "feel down."  I'll be anxious to hear about it.  I did read that the restrictions had been loosened for children, however.
But, hey!  They now have the  'black beast,' so they will have plenty of room for luggage, and each kid gets his own seat with no one in the middle.  Just can't tell you how that thrills me!!!  Seriously, if it makes them happy, that's really all that matters.  I just like to give them a hard time about it because the thing is half a mile long.
I offered to take them and pick them up; but they opted to leave the monster at the airport.  Just as well.  I have never driven anything that long.  I'm surprised one doesn't have to have a chauffeur's license.
Later..,.

Sounds like a great vacation. Agree not to worry about airport security -- tedious, but endurable. Some people choose to make a fuss. I know that somtimes the personnel are ignorant and incompetent -- so what else is new.

The Black Beast? How funny is that! Looks pretty roomy, though. Hope they have a great vacation.

I'm sure they will. Holly and Bevan are just about as big of kids as their kids. They love Disney World too. They are also going to Cape Canaveral to see the final shuttle on the launch pad. They tried to schedule their vacation to time for its lift off, but it got pushed back because of the delays associated with the previous shuttle lift off. It was too late for them to reschedule everything when they found out.

They wear me out when they go on vacation. I would rather take my own private trip so that I don't have to try to keep up.

Best wishes to them for a wonderful vacation. That's a big vehicle, for sure.

Yes, it is. They can barely get it in their garage and still shut the door. It stretches from front to back. The thing is WIDE too.

I would not worry about the pat down.Never had any problems. We hear all of these weird things. We used to get to the airport early for this.
This is BS.We just move along with no problems.People are the one making a big fuss. They are not.

I agree! I think people are making mountains out of mole hills.

Maybe, after this past week with tires and all plus Holly and her poor record with cars, the kids should drive?!?!?!?

Bevan will be driving, I'm sure.
