Keeping Promises ...

As I promised, I starting going to the gym today. Just got home.   I have free enrollment at 24Hour Fitness through my health insurance.  Fortunately, there's a location just a couple of miles from where I live, so I went down yesterday and joined.
Started my diet yesterday also.  For lunch I had a salad and grapes.  For dinner I had a sandwich with no bread.  Have you ever eaten a sandwich with NO BREAD?  It's kind of like using a dildo.  It takes the edge off, but it's certainly not as good as the real thing....or so I've been told!!!.
I actually had a minister tell me when he came to see me after my divorce  that the Bible forbids sex between unmarried couples but says nothing about self-satisfaction.  I changed churches the next week.  That was just more information than I needed to hear from my minister.  I could just imagine shaking his hand on Sunday morning and wondering what he thought I was doing on Saturday night.  Gave me the creeps.
I have the fan on me cooling down at the moment.  Then, I'm going to take a shower, get dressed and go to the library.  I have been checking out five books at a time; but I read so fast that I have them finished in three or four days.  In fact, I only checked these  books out last Friday.  Today, I think I'm going to check out ten, so I don't have to make so many trips to the library.
With gasoline sky high, I have been trying to cut down my driving.  Since the library is about 10 miles away, I don't like having to go that often.  And my SUV just guzzles the gasoline in town.
The weather continues to be beautiful and we continue to get rain.  It rained again Easter Sunday about 2 p.m.  I hope it didn't ruin too many of the kiddo's Easter egg hunts.
Speaking of Easter egg hunts, did you read or hear about several places canceling their annual Easter egg hunts because the parents had actually got into fights  over eggs for their kids last year?  And this didn't just happen at ONE location, but several.   Disgusting!  Some parents never learn that it's NOT about them.

I find that walking suits me better than a gym. I constantly battle my
appetite for Southern and Southwestern cookery. Read Kitchen Tales fried
chicken recipe...or maybe not!

Rain on Easter means 7 straight weeks of Sunday rains! Dry here. Good post. I hardly use bread anymore--tortillas instead. Probably no better for you, but I like the texture of them.

You made me laugh out loud with your response to your minister's words, and then the shaking his hand on Sunday morning... comment.

There's no point to eating a sandwich without bread.
Checking out 10 books will develop the arm muscles.

I broke down and used bread on my sandwich for lunch, but I left off the salad dressing. Yes, I had to take a book bag with me.

Yes, I really do. If gasoline doesn't start coming down, I've got to do something. Maybe I'll get a motor scooter.

If it wasn't too much like work, I'd google "gym membership" and find out how long the average sign-up lasts. Good luck with that. You'd probably do better walking to the library and hitching home!

It was reported today that gas prices were dropping--a little.

"Have you ever eaten a sandwich with NO BREAD? It's kind of like using a dildo." Never having used the latter I don't know what to tell you BUT having done the former 2 thick slices of fresh, crisp lettuce does the job!
'With gasoline sky high'--no problem for me as I don't have a car!!!

As I said, it takes the edge off, but I do love bread. I do wish gasoline would come down. It just keeps going up.
