Smart and Stupid

Hi! I haven't been around for a while, because I have been-and still am, busy! Am going to go to Bosnia-Herzegovina for the IYIPO (International Young Inventors Project Competition) next week, and I, along with my friend Tiara, will be presenting our Physics project (it's a digital tsunami detector) there. Today I just got the news that I pass the Astronomy Olympiad test, and for those who don't know, I was originally in the Biology team but the school administrator had mistakenly registered my name to Astronomy, so for a moment I thought "Hah. I am so. Smart".

But the thought did not last long, because well, I am Rara, and I tend to do the stupidest things. Let me tell you what happened this afternoon.

Somehow I managed to walk straight into a glass door. And when I say I walked into it, I mean I rammed my face full force into the glass . It hurt like hell. For a minute, I thought I might have broken my nose. Luckily, I had not. I sat with an icepack on my nose for a while, and I think it stopped hurting after a few hours.

As if walking into the glass door itself wasn’t embarrassing enough, I made a clear imprint of my nose and lips that were visible on the glass door for the whole world to see what had happened.

The stupid thing was that, just before I smashed my face into the glass, I was actually wondering if anyone had ever been stupid enough to walk into the glass door in question. I guess I got my answer!

So wish my luck! For the project, the Olympiad, and of course-my nose.

I can feel your pain

That happened to me too, though it was not a glass door, it was a wooden pole, and somehow i was cut pretty bad. Got blood all over my face
Oh, and the next day, i hit the windows on a pet store, while i was looking at some cats.

So yeah, i'm clumsy. Power to the clumsy people.

btw, you're going to bosnia.? I thought there was still armed conflicts around that area. Well, I wish you good luck, and safe trip.

Could you adapt your Tsunami detector to spot glass doors? The only defense against banging the nose on one is to move to Israel. We have boarded up all glass doors!

Gosh I thought I was the only 'accident prone' blogger in here, I hope your nose gets better soon, I can't believe your luck! I don't blame you though, the thing is with magnificent people they always have something on their minds, so accidents like this will be common. Good luck with your projects, let us know how everything goes

Good luck and bad!! Oh Rara! I hope your nose is fine by now. You are certain to do well in your science project. Only someone with great intelligence could write this funnily! Look at the posts of some of the great minds on this site... you see?

I'm so glad you passed that astronomy Test, I remember when you first posted about all of that..mistake!

BLESSINGS and good luck on the project, the Olympiad, and your nose.
On TV a few days ago they showed a lab, where the scientists had a mini scale tsunami tank, so they could measure the force and what would happen to the land when it came ashore.
I hope you win and can work with other bright minds in the field!
Well even if you don't get first place you still can work in this field and make many contributions!!!

VERY best wishes on the competitions and on a healed nose of original shape. I was in Dubrovnik some years ago - interesting old walled city - if you can have a side trip. Welcome back
