Storage

Organizational gurus say that if you haven't used it in a year, get rid of it.

Pictures are hard to get rid of b/c they tell stories that mark milestones and just the way life was . . . but I have 9 plastic containers worth that will have to be thoroughly downsized. That's the hard part.

I use to teach homeschooling, so there's an inventory of various curricula, learning materials, and of course, all of our son's artwork.

Why is this so stressful to me?

Imagine 9 full boxes of recorded life! If you have any ideas on the savviest ways to downsize, I'd appreciate hearing from you. My goal is to try and fit it within 3 shoeboxes.

My cellar here contains 47 large plastic lidded boxes, much like the one in your post (66 quart), and they are full of my stuff. And I downsized before i moved three years ago!

I can see keeping your son's artwork, but if the homeschoolong curricula & other material is not something you'll use again, why keep it? Easy for me to say; I still have stuff I haven't used for years and probably never will again. Hmmm, maybe I should start a pile...

I saved every single piece of "school work" my daughter did for Kindergarten. After that, I've only saved the art projects and "special" assignments. I could never make them fit in 3 shoe boxes though. Could you upgrade to just one plastic bin?? That would make it so much easier.
